The Plug Wire Sheath was designed as an inexpensive protection for plug wire boots or any spot on a plug wire that is close to heat and requires additional protection. The Aluminized Plug Wire Sheaths can also be used on lines, wires and hoses that need protection in a specific area. The Aluminized Plug Wire Sheaths are 6 inches long and 3/4 inches in diameter.

    What is a Plug Wire Sheath?
    It is an economical way to reduce up to 90% of radiant heat from your spark plug boot. It can also be used on the wire itself if there is an area of high heat concentration. It will help keep spark plug boots from burning and cracking.

    Can I cut the sheath if it is to long?
    You can easily cut the sheath with scissors or sharp knife and it won’t fray apart.

    What is Aluminized Plug Wire Sheath™ made of?
    You probably can guess that it has an Aluminized outside but what you don’t know is it has a fiberglass fabric bonded to the side of the aluminized material.

    How much heat can this material withstand?
    The heat sheaths can withstand up to 2000 degrees radiant and 500 degrees direct.

    The Q&A on this Product
    QUESTION:  Can this or any of your products be used to protect a plug boot that TOUCHES a tubular header pipe? This a problem on one plug on a ford 289 with headers
    ANSWER:  None of our products can protect a plug boot from damage when it is touching a header. Heat simply conducts thru a little bit slower, still reaching a damaging temperature (See the 1st Law of Thermodynamics and applied Black Body Theory for reference). Only an air gap will work. The good news is, ALL of our products will work as long as even a tiny (>1mm) air gap exists. Without a small air gap, there is no product in the world that will prevent damage to the plug boot.     QUESTION:  Does it wrap around and attach with velcro?
